I want to get a ps3 but worried ps4 will make it go obsolete?

I want to get a ps3 for christmas but im worried that a ps4 will come out and ill have to buy that too. Also since im getting it for christmas i want call of duty black ops but im not sure wat else, so any advice on some fun upcoming games
