Creating newsletter emails, how can I reduce their size?

You're uming that all your recipients have email programs that handle HTML email - you can't unless you ask each one of them. Make it a text newsletter and it'll be much smaller. (An email program that doesn't do HTML will show your newsletter as text or as garbage - that's up to the program's author.)
