Not enough crunch or gain!!?

Ok so recently I changed both the pickups and the strings on my guitar, I changed the pickups to an EMG hz-h4 and an EMG hz-h4a and I changed the strings to 11 gauge ghs burnished strings and now my guitar sounds like im playing with an overdrive instead of my tl-2, is it the strings or the pickups or both? and what should I replace them with?
